In class we read “John Henry”. This story is a tall tale. Tall tales are humorous stories about impossible events. There is a lot of exaggeration used in the writing along with a creative setting and colorful dialogue. It features a main character that has superhuman abilities. In the story we read, “John Henry”, we saw how he was commanded to sun when to come out, grew from an infant to an adult in just days and had super human strength. You are to create your own tall tale. The writing pieces must be at least two pages long.

• Impossible events

• Characters that display super abilities
