Social Studies Questions

These are the questions that need to be answered for the Social Studies. All students were assigned a state to work with. Social Studies State Reports State Population Capital State Tree State Bird State Flower State Nickname State Flag: (describe flag) Current Governor Major Cities Origin of State’s Name Describe Climate Average Temperature in each season (winter, summer, spring, fall) National Parks Nature Attractions Natural Resources Manufactured Products Agriculture Famous people (2) and the reason they are famous Places of interest (choose 2 and write a paragraph about each) Native Foods Any other facts you found interesting

4th Grade Easter Vacation Homework

Reading/Writing: • Children will be given two reading packets (“Foggy Figure” and “Rabbit Habit”). They are to read the stories and answer the questions. Please be sure to answer short answer questions in complete sentences. If it is needed, answers may be written on loose leaf and stapled to the packet. Social Studies: • Students will create a timeline of their life. They will start at the year they are born and end at 2014. The events on the time line should be significant events that are remembered by each child. Please add pictures for each event. If you do not have an actual picture you may use pictures from the internet. (example: My first time on a basketball team- you can use a picture of a basketball). The timeline should be constructed on a piece of oak tag. It may be colored or white. Students may type their events or write them on the piece of oak tag. All homework is due Monday, April 28th, 2014 If your child is missing any of the supplies please send them in when we return from the vacation. Students were asked to bring in:  3 folders  Pack of white copy paper  Pack of loose leaf  Pack of construction paper

Please be sure to answer short answer questions in complete sentences. If it is needed, answers may be written on loose leaf and stapled to the packet. Social Studies: • Students will be exploring an assigned state and finding information about that state. Students will answers the attached questions about their particular state. The information collected will be used to create a state brochure. All homework is due Monday, April 28th, 2014 If your child is missing any of the supplies please send them in when we return from the vacation.
